GLC Custom Media was honored November 2012 with two Gold Pearl Awards from the Custom Content Council, the content marketing industry’s leading trade association, at the organization’s annual gala held in New York City. The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s (USGIF) custom content program trajectory won the category’s highest honor for Strategy: Best New Launch or Re-launch. Trajectory beat out four other contenders for the honor. A second Gold award was given for Design: Best New Newsletter to the University of Michigan Health System’s Colleagues in Care Pediatrics newsletter.

Trajectory provides high-level thought leadership for members of USGIF and the overall intelligence, defense, and homeland security communities. At its core, trajectory focuses on the future of geospatial intelligence, but its broader goal is to be the pre-eminent resource on issues of significance to the greater GEOINT Community. The program includes a bi-monthly print publication, a complementary magazine website, an e-newsletter program, and tablet applications for both the iPad and Android.

Colleagues in Care Pediatrics is developed for more than 15,000 referring physicians in Michigan and Northwest Ohio. The goal of the newsletter and its companion microsite is to inform referring physicians about research and services at U-M and communicate how U-M is making it easier for them to refer patients to the medical center.

The Pearl Awards recognize excellence in custom media and content marketing in the areas of design, editorial, strategic initiatives in print, digital and mobile platforms. Winners were selected from more than 628 entries. Submissions included magazines, newsletters, websites, blogs, Apps and videos, published for clients from a wide range of industries: tourism, travel, technology, automotive, health, retail and many more.
