GLC is excited to announce a new partnership with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). MDA has selected GLC to provide custom publishing services for the organization’s flagship magazine, Quest, which is distributed to more than 130,000 subscribers each quarter. The newly designed and re-imagined magazine, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, will be introduced in early 2014 under GLC’s leadership.
MDA’s decision to partner with GLC was driven by the agency’s deep experience developing award-winning membership media for professional, trade and health care associations, as well as its expertise in producing consumer- and physician-targeted media for hospital and health care systems.
“MDA is in the midst of an exciting transformation as we find new ways to tell our story, new audiences with whom to connect, and new positioning opportunities for our brand,” said Steve Ford, MDA’s Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. “GLC is introducing us to fresh integrated communications concepts so we can better assist our families fighting life-threatening muscle disease, while at the same time recognizing our supporters who make our work possible. We see enormous upside opportunities with GLC at our marketing communications table.”
In August, MDA announced plans to open a new national office in Chicago. The decision to engage a locally based company further demonstrates MDA’s commitment to align strategically with new partners who can actively shape its rebranding efforts and new sponsors who support MDA as their charity of choice.
“For two decades, families and individuals affected by neuromuscular diseases have relied on Quest to provide much needed information about the latest research, treatments, products and tips for better independent living,” said Joe Stella, Vice President of New Business Development for GLC. “As we move to improve the Quest experience, we often reflect on how important this resource is to people. For many, it’s more than a magazine; it’s a link that bonds a community.”
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the world’s leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular diseases. MDA funds worldwide research; provides comprehensive health care services and support to MDA families nationwide; and rallies communities to fight back through advocacy, fundraising and local engagement.
