4 Tips to Tell Your Story

Marketers should spend at least 10% of their time on content marketing, says Robert Rose, chief strategist at the Content Marketing Institute. But creating engaging, targeted, scalable content is easier said than done.

For time-strapped marketers, here are four content tactics you can implement in no time.

  • Videos — YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, after Google. If you’re not creating video — even with an iPhone or FlipCam — start now before it’s too late. Good sound, interesting conversation, and relevant information goes a long way.
  • SlideShare — Do you have a presentation lying around that’s informative and visually appealing? Post it to SlideShare or offer a free download on your website as a way to build your e-marketing list. Good presentations build brand recognition and give you another metric to track.
  • Research Reports — Your organization’s data, information and surveys are fantastic ways to promote your organization. Offer some of the information on your website — in exchange for an email address — or share it via your social networks.
  • Press Releases — Yes, they’re old fashioned, but news drives SEO. Just remember to keep your releases updated so the first thing people read on your site isn’t three years old.
